Eugene Bridgett,
Calvert County Public Schools, is the principal of Calvert High School. Mr. Bridgett’s entire career as an educator has taken place in the state of Maryland where he began teaching social studies at La Plata High School in 1976. After teaching at La Plata for three years, he moved to the Alternative School in Pomfret, Md., where he taught social studies, was acting principal, and held the position of head teacher until 1984. Mr. Bridgett became the countywide summer vice principal for the evening high school and summer school and was also the superintendent’s hearing officer in 1984. He later became vice principal at Thomas Stone High School in Waldorf, Md. in 1985. Mr. Bridgett became principal for the evening high school program at Calvert High School in 1990. In addition to serving as evening principal at Calvert, Mr. Bridgett also became principal at Southern Middle School in Lusby, Md. In 1996, he assumed the position of principal at Calvert High School. Mr. Bridgett has a BS degree in sociology and social sciences from Frostburg State College in Frostburg, Md., and an MS degree in supervision and administration from George Washington University in Washington, D.C.
