Catherine K. Walker,
Stafford County Public Schools, is the principal of Hartwood Elementary School. Mrs. Walker began her career in education in 1969, when she joined Stafford County Public Schools as a social studies teacher at T. Benton Gayle Junior High School in Fredericksburg, Va. From 1974 to 1982, she was a creative arts specialist for the Stafford County Public School System, introducing cultural programs to students throughout the county. In 1982, Mrs. Walker was named director of middle school education, supervising curriculum development, implementation and improvement for all Stafford County middle schools. She assumed her present position in 1986. Mrs. Walker holds a BA degree in art history and history from Mary Washington College in Fredericksburg, Va., and an MEd degree from the University of Virginia in Charlottesville.
