Randall B. Washburn,
Stafford County Public Schools, is the principal of Rocky Run Elementary School. Mr. Washburn began his career in education in 1970, as a physical education teacher at Binghamton Central High School in Binghamton, N.Y. From 1973 to 1974, he moved to Maryland and taught physical education at La Plata High School. In 1974, Mr. Washburn joined Stafford County Public Schools where he was an itinerant physical education teacher traveling between Ann E. Moncure, Grafton Village and Stafford Elementary Schools. From 1976 to 1980, he was promoted to assistant principal of Grafton Village Elementary School in Falmouth, Va. In 1980, Mr. Washburn became principal at Ferry Farm Elementary School in Fredericksburg, Va., where he remained for eight years. From 1988 to 1999, he returned to Grafton Village Elementary School and served as principal until 2000 when he assumed his current position. He holds a BS degree in health and physical education from West Chester State College in Pennsylvania and an MA degree in educational administration and supervision from George Washington University in the District.
